Services

The new Airport of the Araucania Region offers a range of services for the passengers and users provided through commercial subconcessions. Additionally the airport offers preferential access and parking for people with disabilities and pregnant women. In addition to the above, the passenger terminal offers sanitary facilities specially design for people with disabilities, three elevators, changing tables and public telephones for easy access.

The Nuevo Aeropuerto offers more than 300 paved parking spaces. The service has a rating a charging system with self-service system located on the main entrance of the passenger terminal. The parking rates are as followed:

Rights and obligations of the passengers in an air transport contract.

An air transport contract of passengers, according to the article 126 of the Aeronautic Code, is one under which one party, denominated conveyor, is obliged, under a certain price, to navigate from one place to another, by air, another party denominated passenger. The rights and obligations of the passenger are all of those established in the law and in the transport contract. For more information, click here.

Arrival paperwork
National Arrivals, after landing, the passengers on national routes access the baggage claim area, located on the first level of the terminal, where they can find free luggage carts. Inside the baggage claim area are located the official taxis and bus counters. All this means of transportation are available to take the passengers to their final destination. International Arrivals, To enter Chile, all passenger must go through migratory control with International Police, showing your ID or Passport and the stamped visa (depending on country of origin). After that, once the migratory control is over, the passenger will Access the baggage claim area located on the first level of the terminal, to continue through customs and agricultural and livestock service (SAG). Departure paperwork
National Departures, The National Departure Lounge is located on the second level of the terminal. Once the passenger checks-in with the corresponding airline counter, should go through the Security Control (AVSEC), prepared with boarding pass and ID in hand, to access the departure lounge. Inside they can find waiting areas, sanitary facilities, stores, cafeteria and VIP Lounge. The boarding fees are included in the air fare. The boarding fees are variable and are established by the Civil Aviation General Direction. More information in www.dgac.cl
International Departures, The International Departure Lounge is located on the second level of the terminal on the south side. When it is time to go through migration in International Police, the passenger should have on hand ID or passport, stamped visa, depending on the country of origin, and boarding pass. In case of minors traveling, the notarial documentation, certificates and/or booklet containing family details, as the case may be. After this, the passenger must go through Security Control (AVSEC) for then go in to the departure lounge. In the case of those passengers that after leaving the country they have to return to it, and carry with them an article of value, there is an office of Customs Service, where they can make an affidavit of temporary removal of the objects. Inside of the National Departure Lounge, the passengers can find waiting areas, sanitary facilities, stores, cafeteria and VIP Lounge. The boarding fees are included in the air fare. About us

Sociedad Concesionaria Aeropuerto Araucanía S.A., was adjudge the construction and operation of the Nuevo Aeropuerto of the Araucania Region, through an international public tender convened by the Ministry of Public Works in December and adjudged through a Supreme Decree MOP N° 121 on February of 2010.

The stockholders of the concessioner are Empresa Constructora Belfi S.A. and Inversiones Araucania S.A. with a 51% and 49% of the shares.

The New Airport Araucania Region is located in the commune of Freire 20 km south – west of the city of Temuco, about 4 km west of Route 5. View Map

The New Airport of the Araucania Region is situated 20 kms. south-west of the city of Temuco, approximately 3 kms. west of Route 5. The project consists in the construction of a new airport for the Region, to replace the actual Maquehue airfield of Temuco, with all the civil works and necessary facilities seeing in one with international characteristics. Also, it includes the construction of the access road to the new airport and the connection with Route 5 in the new projected road.

Among the main projects, the construction of a new runway of 2.440 m of longitude, a parking platform of 22.770 m2 of approximate area, with capacity for 4 airplanes; a passenger terminal of approximately 5.300 m2; three boarding bridges, aeronautic buildings for the Civil Aviation General Direction; a control tower; help systems for air navigation (ILS Cat. III, VOR-DME, lights approximation, etc.) construction of connexion routes, are contemplated among others.
